HANGER.IO

 

Hanger is a St. Louis-based startup company with a style management smartphone app.

When I joined Hanger, the app itself was still under construction, it was called Garbshare, and the target was divorced parents who want to track their kids clothes going back and forth between houses.

Over the course of a year and a half, I oversaw a complete overhaul of the entire company. I worked with the company’s 5-person team to rebranded to Hanger. We developed an entirely new brand, defined the company’s vision, redesigned the mobile app, redesigned the website (which I did myself), and repositioned the product as a personal style app targeting Millennial women.

The Hanger team and I evolved the product development roadmap and developed a B2B revenue model that revolved around business partnerships with brands and stylists who would sell directly to users inside their Hanger digital closet, allowing them to pair their existing wardrobe with items they potentially want to buy and also giving the brand the ability to suggest items right inside the user’s digital closet.

I worked with Hanger’s team and agency partners to develop a viable go-to-market strategy for sustainable growth in the marketplace along with the business partnership strategy for the new revenue model. I designed and developed the investor pitch deck, along with all of the B2B and consumer facing marketing materials and communications.

In addition, I oversaw all of the company’s agency partnerships and guided the development of the app’s user experience and technical functionality, created and oversaw the implementation of a national campus brand ambassador program, developed and oversaw execution of the content marketing strategy, and product launch campaign. I helped structure the team and define job roles, develop job roles for new hires, and directed the team/company (of 4 employees, 3 interns and 12 campus brand ambassadors) with the exception of financials and HR. I was also heavily involved in developing and cultivating company culture.

GIRLS ASK GUYS

GirlsAskGuys is a St. Louis-based web startup that provides a multilingual platform for men and women to pose questions to those of the opposite gender about social life. EllosSaben.com and KizlarSoruyor.com are the international platforms in Spanish and Turkish.

I spent 8 months with an internationally distributed GAG team fleshing out their branding, particularly the brand voice and market positioning, working on language and design in their investor deck. I wrote and oversaw the design and implementation of their entire email marketing strategy, and helped them completely revamped their revenue model. 

They were initially relying on advertising and had removed content creation abilities for general users. Under my direction, we brought back user-generated articles and incorporated it into a strategy for offering sponsored content. I also worked with their existing marketing team to rework their social media strategy for a better presence.

I worked closely with the development team and other members of the company on platform development and testing as well as outlining requirements for new functionality and user experience.

I also helped them recruit and hire a full time Chief Marketing Officer for their St. Louis office in addition to ghost writing multiple PR pieces which appeared on Forbes.com.

RBO Print Logistix

RBO PrintLogistix is a St. Louis-based printing and technology company specializing in print/tech solutions for large healthcare systems, national nonprofit organizations and other corporate conglomerates.

RBO wanted to shift their traditional sales model to a more modern, inbound lead generation model. I helped them select and implement a Customer Relationship Management system that could provide a scalable solution for their growing online business, oversaw the redesign of their website to create an ideal user experience for online lead generation, created a content strategy to attract inbound marketing leads, and oversaw and implemented their on-page search engine optimization strategy.
